The big day has finally come, will have a new member in your family. When the young reach your home , you want to be sure I made the right decision, where the family will adapt?, is it friendly to everyone?, is it too playful or too big? Of course, when I mean small, I mean a new dog in the family.

Here are some questions that arise when you bring a new pet home. While nothing guarantees that whatever dog you choose will connect instantly with his family, and more importantly with their children, have some things in mind will help ensure you find the right.

The first thing to consider is the size of the dog that wants to bring home. Canines Chihuahuas range from less than one kilo of English Mastiffs over 100 kilos. Do not think that the best option for younger children are dogs smaller. If the animal is very small there are more chances of this being crushed or injured up to the same children who are ten times its size. Big dogs are not a bad choice when it comes to small children, but now is the size of the child which gives them the disadvantage. Another thing to consider is where you live, does the dog will have enough space to stay active? You may not have any problem having a large dog in an apartment or a guy in a very large, but do you risk it?

Another point to consider is personality. While dogs are bad with this type of personality because they were undergoing training, there are breeds that tend to be bad with children. Of the 279 deaths caused by dogs between 1979 and 1994, races that were most involved were Pit Bulls , Rottweilers and German Shepherds.

Other dogs prone to this type of personality are Dobermans and Dalmatians. In addition to considering this aspect of personality, consider the activity of the animal. While one race is considered to be less aggressive, it may be too boisterous for small children. There are many things about the personality of the dogs that have to be good with children, such as the fact that they are docile, friendly, patient and willing to be disturbed. The key is finding a dog that has these characteristics.

There are other things that can facilitate the fact of bringing a pet home . Children take a long time, so make walking your dog will no longer be as easy as it once was, especially when it’s cold and it’s difficult to get children together. Dogs need plenty of exercise such as larger terriers, cocker spaniels and most dogs over 20 kilos may not receive the attention needed to stay healthy and active. Another thing to consider is how easy it is to keep it clean, if you lose a lot of hair, or requires regular grooming. While considerations may now seem not so important, believe me having to get the dog hair from your baby may eventually be very annoying.

The last thing to consider is time. What do I mean by this? Many dogs do best if they are raised while the kids . It is more difficult to adapt children to an older dog than for one who has grown up with them. When a dog is so used to the children since they are puppies, they can tolerate them pull on the hair, hit them or be bothered.
There are no guarantees when it comes to choosing a new dog for your family, but if looking for some information, increase the chances of choosing the right dog . A family dog ??can be a member of his clan for many years, I expect some of the information here can help him adapt and become part of your family.
