The infection can come in all types of wounds. In injuries caused by sharp objects, cuts, tears or burns. The infection is most common in the deeper incisions large burns or wounds caused by bites. To determine whether the child’s wound has been infected, you can see some signs:
- Wounds do not heal or improve even after treatment.
- Wounds that ache and bleed easily.
- Wounds that have an abscess with pus discharge or a strange color or odor.
- Wounds that have swollen and very red areas around
- Wounds sore and warm when touched.
Some wounds are infected. What to do about it?
The wounds become infected because of inadequate hygiene and cleanliness, a cure ineffective, or being in contact or exposed to any microorganisms or germs. Therefore it is necessary to disinfect the wound, be it the size it is, every day.
When the child is a wound, it is important first, stay clean and disinfected. And how is that done? We tell you step by step:
1 – Wash hands with soap and water for wound healing
2 – Wash the wound with warm water and mild soap to remove any foreign bodies such as dirt, sand, scrap wood, glass or plants, etc..
3 – Dry, with the help of a sterile gauze (not cotton) from the center outward, to drag the germs.
4 – Apply an antiseptic solution to disinfect the wound and thus deal with the bacteria. It is best to use an easily absorbed through the skin and maintains its action for several hours. Chlorhexidine is an antiseptic that has these characteristics and also is the most commonly used to heal wounds of children. The presence of allantoin promotes even skin hydration of the child. It is advisable to apply antiseptic twice a day until you check that the wound is healed.
What not to do to prevent wound infection
1 – Use as antiseptic Mercurochrome Mebromin or wounds on the children. It is proven that these products can produce what is known as contact eczema, and if used over large areas and long, is toxic to the kidney.
2 – Use alcohol to disinfect the wound of children. Apart from causing much pain, can cause burns and therefore worsen the clinical picture of the wound. Disinfectant and antiseptic action of chlorhexidine lasts longer than alcohol.
3 – Use povidone-iodine on the wound of children. It is more geared for adults. Chlorhexidine is more effective in the case of children.
4 – Use hydrogen peroxide to disinfect. It only serves to clean the wound, the same way as the saline. Nothing more.

Samsung’s Android smartphone portfolio continues to grow, as the company announced today at the Samsung SEA Forum in Singapore that it will be releasing the Galaxy Pro.
Though details are still light, images of the device have shown that it is going to adopt a similar design to many of the BlackBerry handsets available today: it will sport a four-row, QWERTY keyboard beneath a 2.8-inch touchscreen display.
This is a design popular with many business users, who prefer easy text entry over a large display, and the “Pro” in the name indicates that this model is likely aimed at the enterprise.
It appears that the Galaxy Pro will be an entry-level smartphone, as the handful of specs that have been revealed aren’t on the high end. It will be powered by an 800 MHz processor and will run Google Android OS 2.2 (Froyo) with Samsung’s TouchWiz UI overlay.
Other features are going to include a 3-megapixel
camera with auto-focus, Wi-Fi connectivity, and Social Hub Premium.
Price & Availability
It is currently unknown what U.S. wireless carriers will offer the Galaxy Pro, though it has been announced that U.K. carrier Three will offer it.
Likewise, pricing and availability information for the handset has yet to be disclosed.
